WELLS
The artesian well at West, near Waco, Tex., the drilling of which began two months ago began to How last week with a pressure of 60 pounds to the inch and a stream equalling 500,000 gallons per day. It resembles the Waco water in most respects. The well is 1,647 feet deep.
The joint water committee appointed by Mayor Westcott to devise a plan for improving the Camden, N. J., water supply, met last week and discussed the artesian well system. A number of letters from manufacturers who use artesian wells weie read and they all spoke in favor of the system. A committee composed of Messrs. Dialogue, Jessup and Felton, was appointed to visit Brooklyn and examine the artesian well supply used by that city. They will report to the joint committee on Wednesday next when the committee’s final report w ill be made up.
