IT is announced that Weeping Water, Neb., will construct waterworks. And so it has come to this at last. We have always feared it. No town can go on slopping over at the slightest provocation, in emulation of the “cherubim and seraphim,” who “ continually do cry,” without sooner or later ruining its natural water supply system. We are sorry for Weeping Water.
ACCORDING to The Indianapolis (Ind.) News there is a demand for the proposed law providing for the appointment of a building inspector for that city. “ Scores of places,” says the News, “ that are now permitted to exist, for want of an officer, would be removed, and dangers too numerous to mention can be checked in time to save life and property by his presence.”
