Three-County M. A. Drill
A three-county (Monroe, Ontario and Wayne) mutual aid drill was conducted May 12 at Fishers, N. Y. Fourteen pumpers, 10 water tankers, rescue and ambulance units represented 24 fire departments. Representatives of regional and county firemen’s associations were in attendance. Pumper and tanker relays, drafting and high-pressure fog were used on structural, oil pit, oil spill, tank, auto and other practice fires. The abandoned New York Central Railroad depot at Fishers was donated for the purpose. The fire radio and alarm systems of the three counties were used and very few of the units involved knew the nature of the activity planned until alerted by call.
Fishers Fire Department was host, and the critique session following the drill indicated the program was effective and enthusiastically received.
