The Film Campaign and the Chief

The Film Campaign and the Chief

On another page of this week’s issue will be found an appeal to the chiefs of all of the fire departments of the country to co-operate with us in the proposed moving picture Fire Prevention Campaign which FIRE AND WATER ENGINEERING is preparing in connection with the Universal Film Manufacturing Company. The importance of this campaign from a fire prevention standpoint cannot be overrated. The moving picture appeals through the eye more directly to the general public than any other medium that can be used, as it presents scenes that bring vividly to the spectator the results of carelessness in connection with fire hazards. But in order to make this campaign a success it is absolutely essential that it shall have not only the unqualified approval, but also the active backing of the chief of the local fire department. This is true of every town and city, large or small, in which this film is to be displayed. The encouraging support that we have received from many of the chiefs of fire departments leads us to believe that it will be necessary only for us to ask for this co-operation to receive it from practically every fire chief in the country. Read over carefully the article on page 268, cut out the accompanying form and mail it to us properly filled out, which will assure us of your active co-operation. Don’t delay. This is a matter of tremendous importance in the Fire Prevention field, and only by the help of every chief can it be successfully accomcomplished. You are that chief. On your assistance rests the success of this important campaign.
