Prison Sentence for Arson Death
A 25-year-old former volunteer fire fighter of Poughkeepsie, N. Y., recently was sentenced in Dutchess County Court to a term of 12 to 25 years in state prison. Richard H. Sweet admitted setting eight fires, one of them fatal, and pleaded guilty to first-degree manslaughter. He had been indicted for first-degree murder as well as arson.
