Jun. 6—Five family members died in an early morning house fire in Flint on Monday, fire officials said.
Two adults and three children were killed in the blaze; a third child escaped and was being treated at a local hospital, said Mark Kovach, Flint Fire Department battalion chief.
The fire erupted in a two-floor single-family home on the 1600 block of Euclid Avenue at about 4:15 a.m., Kovach said. By that time, the second floor of the home was smoked filled.
The origin of the fire remains under investigation by the city’s Police Department and Michigan State Police fire marshal, Kovach said.
