According to a report fromWPRI, six people were hospitalized, including four residents and two firefighters, after a three-alarm fire in Fall River, Massachusetts, Sunday night.
Just after 9 p.m., Fall River Fire Department (FRFD) firefighters arrived to Alden Street for a report of a fire with a person trapped on the second floor. At that time, all residents had evacuated from the structure.
FRFD District Chief Sean Flannery said the fire began on the first floor and extended to the third floor in the walls. He then said the FRFD performed a quick knockdown, but “chased” the fire for the rest of the night.
One of the four residents hospitalized is in critical condition. The two FRFD firefighters suffered minor injuries.
The cause of the fire is now under investigation.
