The winners of the two state prizes will be announced March 28. The first state prize is $100.; the second state prize is $50. The winning essays will be published in the Indiana Fire Prevention Quarterly, official organ of the State Fire Marshal Department.

Each essay will be graded as follows: 75% on treatment of subject and 25% on English used.

The judges of the district contest will be selected by the district contest chairman. The judges of the State contest will be selected by Mrs. Nellie M. Long, Chief of the Educational Division of the State Fire Marshal Department, who has active charge of the contest throughout the state. Mrs. Long reports that great interest is shown everywhere in the contest and the Department is receiving excellent cooperation from all quarters in its effort to make it both interesting and highly beneficial to the citizens of the whole state.
