Cliffside Fire Threatens San Francisco Landmarks

RESTRICTED APPROACH and a dead-end water main hampered San Francisco fire fighters on November 12 last as they struggled to subdue a raging fire threatening two famous landmarks. Originating in a frame business complex along Point Lobos Avenue, on the rocky cliffs overlooking the Pacific Ocean, the five-alarm blaze exposed the Cliff House, a tourist mecca, and the equally renowned Sutro Baths.
