Boathouse Burns
Three hundred fifty privately owned canoes were destroyed in a three-alarm fire which swept the boathouse on Belle Isle, Mich., on September 13.
The fire was discovered by the patrolman in charge of the gate of the boathouse, shortly after he reported for duty at midnight, and spread rapidly toward the section of the building housing cityowned craft.
