The large “glove friendly” D-shaped pull handle gives Vent Boss operators an advantage. In addition the Vent Boss has a combined choke/stop control that allows for easier starting and reduces the risk of “flooding” the engine. A compression relief valve also reduces starting resistance for an easier start.
The throttle lockout is designed to prevent accidental operation. When you press the lock it releases the throttle control; when you release the handle both the throttle control and the throttle lockout move back to their original positions. This arrangement means that the throttle control is automatically locked at the idle setting.
With a max-power chain speed of 75.67 fps the dual-raker fire department style carbide-tipped cutting chain gives the Vent Boss all it needs to eat through anything. Easy side access allows for trouble free chain tension adjustment. The inertia activated-chain brake stops chain rotation in less than 1/20th of a second. This quick acting chain brake protects an operator in the event of a kickback thus reducing the risk of accidents.
Air intake features a centrifugal air cleaning system with a high volume-heavy duty felt filter that protects the engine from smoke, dust and steam. The top radius of the guard plate combined with the top ported muffler and arcuate shaped chain brake handle directs the engine’s pressurized exhaust flow to blow the smoke and heat away from the operator while the saw performing ventilation cuts.

The result is increased efficiency during felling, clearing or bucking operations.
