A massive grass fire in the Iowa Great Lakes yesterday has injured a firefighter, reports siouxlandnrews.com (http://bit.ly/1xGjWvD)
The Spirit Lake Fire Department, along with crews from six other area department and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, spent several hours fighting a fire east of Arnold’s Park.
That fire became so large it actually jumped a road.
One firefighter was seriously injured battling the fire.
He was initially taken to Lakes Regional Healthcare, and then flown to a burn unit in Minneapolis/St. Paul.
The name and current condition of that firefighter have not been released.
