Griphoist

The GRIPHOIST is a hand-operated, manual portable hoist using wire rope for heavy-duty work. The GRIPHOIST can be operated in vertical, horizontal, or even diagonal positions. It is used in industry to lift, pull, or transfer loads from one position to another. The GRIPHOIST is a piece of equipment which is durable and can perform many duties. In the fire service, the GRIPHOIST is used to lift a load, stabilize a load, and move a load from one location to another.

The working principle of the GRIPHOIST is based on the two pairs of grip jaws: These pairs of grip-jaws work like two hands alternately seizing the wire rope to pull it for lifting, and retain it during lowering. The two pair of grip-jaws is locked by the pull of the wire rope. A point to remember when using the GRIPHOIST is the heavier the load, the stronger the grip.
