The Boston Fire Department responded to a four-alarm house fire in Dorchester Sunday.

“Heavy fire at the rear of the building is now at third-alarm,” the fire department said via tweet shortly after 1:30 p.m.

Fire crews told reporters at the scene no one was injured but two people were displaced by the blaze.

Crews responded to a report of a fire at 19 Oakley St. where they found a two-story structure fully with flames reaching through the roof.

Less than four minutes later the department activated an additional alarm. In total more than 100 firefighters responded, according to the department.

Shortly before 2 p.m. the department reported the heavy fire had been knocked down and “major overhauling” had begun.

Fire crews reported having to “deal” with live wires in the rear of the building.

According to a spokesperson with the state’s Department of Fire Services four-alarm occur fires in Massachusetts several times per year.

“There was one in Gardner last week, and one in Webster last month, for example,” the spokesperson said.

As of 3:30 p.m. the response had mostly been terminated but fire officials said detail crews would stay on scene to deal with potential hot spots.
