City of Los Angeles (CA) fire crews experienced access challenges while responding to this recent fire in a vacant residence. Area fire photographerRick McClureshared some photos from the incident.
The fire, which occurred August 24, 2017, in the North Hills section of the city, was in a very compartmentalized structure that was also boarded up, making it difficult for firefighters to get handlines to each section of the building.

Firefightersultimately were able to make access to the converted attic, where there found heavy fire. No injuries were reported, and exposure buildings were protected from damage.
