What do most of us stress about? The top four are money, work, family, and health—in that order. What are 10 signs we’re stressing? Problems sleeping, pain, hair changes, stomach issues, twitching, acne, chronic colds, hormonal fluctuations, skin rashes, and abdominal fat. That’s the bad stuff--stressors and their symptoms. Now to the good stuff--what we can do about it. And this is especially important for us firefighter couples, as ours is a world of the highest levels of dangerous, traumatic stress. Such levels can erode mental and physical health and even destroy relationships. My first two tried-and-true tips in dealing with stress are exercise and prayer/meditation.
