A fire chief in Lancaster County is accused of sexually assaulting a youth member of the fire department.
Donald E. Moyer, 52, was charged Tuesday with indecent assault, unlawful contact with a minor and corruption of a minor, Northern Lancaster County Regional Police said.
He was arraigned and released on $25,000 bail, police said.
Moyer, of Stevens, Pa., was chief of the Durlach-Mount Airy Fire Department, police said.
Police said they began investigating after fire department officials filed a complaint alleging Moyer had sexual contact with a 16-year-old member of the fire department.
Police said the alleged assault took place June 14 during a training session at the department, with Moyer allegedly asking the teen to meet him at a secluded area between parked fire equipment and then sexually touching the teen with his hand.
Police said evidence in the case includes text messages from Moyer.
