A Vicious Bill

A measure which met with defeat two years ago in the New York Board of Aldermen has again bobbed up in that legislative body of the metropolis. It is an age retirement bill, and seeks to amend Section 790 of the Greater New York Charter, so that the fire commissioner is given discretionary power to retire any member of the uniformed force of the fire department at the age of sixtytwo years.
