This year, the国家消防部门仪表卫竞赛将举办一些最好的Honor Guardunits in the country competing to find out who is the best unit in the country. This competition judges skills used in the performance of duties they are likely to perform at a line-of-duty death or other ceremony and is judged by the cadre from the National Honor Guard Academy. In addition to the trophies, prizes are awarded for the top three finishers from Marlow White Uniforms as well as a Ceremonial Sword for the best unit commander from Glendale Parade Stores.
Captain Glen C. Busch, Commander, MABAS Division 20 Honor Guard, Hillside (IL) Fire Department, is in charge of the competition. Asked why it is held at FDIC, he replied, “With so many departments already attending FDIC each year and so many of the vendors used by the teams, it only seemed fitting that the national competition be held here as well.
Busch went on to say what he was looking forward to at FDIC 2013: “The开场仪式and the heavy emphasis on honor and tradition this year will make this year’s FDIC very memorable.”
As a unit, his group has attended FDIC since 2006, but this is the 27th year of the competition in various forms.
他对初次与会者的建议:“离开酒店房间,尽可能多地探索。特别活动,演示,课程和供应商都非常出色。如果您在会议周围探索,您将学到的东西真是太神奇了。”
