Voice Recording Ignored
A telephone tape recording of a man’s voice reporting what proved to be a false alarm was not admitted as evidence by a New York Police Court Magistrate recently.
On July 7, 1956, a man telephoned from a grocery store and reported a fire at a West 120th Street address. When the responding companies found no trace of the fire they called the dispatcher to verify the location.
