THE DEADLY GASOLINE.

Gasoline vapor, unlike all other inflammable gases, sinks in air, spreads over the floor, and is drawn up by the current produced by any open light and ignited. Gasoline may be fired by an electric spark due to rubbing fabrics, especially silk, in it. ’ After dilating at such length upon the risks attending gasoline and pointing out the constant liability to explosion which attends its use, the State fire marshal, somewhat enigmatically and without any statement in the way of reconciling his apparently contradictory conclusion, declares that “gasoline never explodes. It cannot, because it contains no oxygen, and oxygen is necessary to the combustion which constitutes an explosion.

One of the oldest water supply plants in England is the old mill at Castle Mullin, which was first used when the Domesday Book was written up. It is now utilised for municipal purposes.
