Study Shows Auto Crashes Seldom Result in Fires
A federally financed study by the University of Utah auto-crash research team showed that only 29 of 12,909 investigated accidents actually resulted in fires.
There were no serious injuries or fatalities attributed to fires in the 29 fire-involved accidents. The fires were self-extinguished or handled by a bystander in 15 of the 29 cases.
