IAFF to Hold Symposium On Fire Service Hazards
The third Symposium on Occupational Health Hazards of the Fire Service, sponsored by the John P. Redmond Memorial Fund with the cooperation of the Washington and St. Louis University Schools of Medicine, will be held at the Chase Park Plaza Hotel in St. Louis from February 24th to 27th.
Workshops will include: Current status and development of breathing apparatus, protective equipment, and safe design of fire apparatus; is heart disease a special problem in the fire service?; medical qualifications for the fire service; emergency medical care and cardiopulmonary resuscitation; and recognizing potentially hazardous situations.
