Some Tennessee Fire Departments Move to Full-Time

Many Tennessee fire stations in the eastern part of the state are operated byvolunteerfirefighters, but the state says that number is on the decline.

WATE reported that (http://bit.ly/1Qt301b) currently in Tennessee there is a total of 110 combination fire departments with some paid, full-time firefighters on the roster, such as the Seymour Volunteer Fire Department.

“We are getting such a population base out here that it’s got to move into those manned and staffed fire stations,” Chief Kevin Nunn told reporters.
