Godwin New U. S. Fire Chief
David P. Godwin, mechanization expert, who developed the technique of parachuting fire fighters to combat forest fires, has been named head of the Forest Service Division of Fire Control. He succeeds Perry A. Thompson, recently appointed regional forester at San Francisco.
