The eighth annual convention of the New York Volunteer Firemen’s association will be held at Auburn on August 7, 8, 9. Chief Jewhurst points out that that city was the “cradle of this convention, which was started there in 1893." and that Auburn is prepared to “welcome her boys home.” He expects the convention will be the “largest in the history of the association,” and says there will be “several agreeable surprises” for the guests, for whom there is ample hotel accommodation. There will be the usual contests for prizes and a grand display of apparatus. Secretary Charles G. Adams or Chief Jewhurst himself, will give all the necessary information.
