Boulder, Colo., has just ordered an up-to-date city service hose wagon, provided with improved equipments, from Messrs. Seagrave & Co., Columbus, Ohio, through their representa. tive, Mr. Julius Pearse, of Denver, Colo, The high standard of workmanship, material and finish, utility and beauty of design of apparatus made by this-well known firm, have so increased the demand for their goods that they are now compelled to add to their plant, in order to fill orders promptly, as has been their custom in the past.
Baltimore, Md., has placed in service a new Hale water tower, which it has recently received from S. F, Hayward & Co., of New York This tower is of the largest size, and is equipped with all the most recent improvements. It has two deck standpipes, so that it is capable of throwing three powerful streams simultaneously. It is similar in the main to the new Hale water tower, which S. F Hayward A Co. are s on to deliver to the city of New York.—One of the most notable of recently introduced fire department devices is the Hathaway hose washer, for which S. F. Hayward & Co. are the sole agents. This washer is very simple in its mechanism, and a length of hose may be easily and thoroughly washed by one man at the rate of fifty feet a minute. New York has had twenty-three of these in service for some time, and has recently ordered six more, making twenty-nine in all. Other departments which have arranged to test the washer, with a view to introducing it in their respective departments, are Boston, Philadelphia, Worcester, Fall River, St. Louis, Paterson, etc.
