Important Changes In the Denver Fire and Police Departments.

DENVER, Col., March 27.—By a recent act of the legislature the fire and police departments of this city were recently taken from the control of the Mayor and placed under a board of three commissioners. The change is recognized as one of great importance to these branches of the municipal service, and the formal transfer of the departments to the Police and Fire Board, which took place March 10, was made with considerable ceremony and celebrated by a fine parade.
