Permission has been given by the fire commissioner to the heirs of Benjamin I. H. Trask to burn the old mansion at 174th street and Southern Boulevard in The Bronx, as no danger to neighboring property will arise therefrom. Firemen will be sent to the place as a precautionary measure, and, if it is necessary, to burn the house down, the fire department will charge $50 for sending apparatus to the scene.

Louis L. Happ died at his home, Klton street and Jamaica avenue, Brooklyn, on March 6. He was 55 years old and president of the Exempt Firemen’s association of the town of New Lots, and a thirty-second degree Mason. He was a leader in the ranks of the Democrats and very popular with everyone of whatever school of politics. The large attendance at the funeral services bore witness to bis worth as a fireman and a citizen.
