—A town meeting will be held at Peabody, Mass., on Tuesday to urge the appointment of a committee to investigate the subject of street lighting by electricity and report at the annual meeting next March.

—The city council of Winnepeg, Man., is determined to compel the Northwest Electric Light Company to insulate its wires. The wires are now being strung without insulation, and the council claims there is danger to life and property therefrom. The company says it would cost $18,000 to comply with the council’s demand.
