Fire Departments Are Finalists in Annual Family Handyman/IKEA Rescue Remodel Contest

Three of the finalists in this year’sIKEA-sponsored The Family Handyman救援Remodel Contestare fire departments, and there’s less than two weeks left to vote. The contest is currently in its second year of giving back to deserving community groups, such as firehouses, boys & girls clubs, and soup kitchens.

This year’s finalists include:

  • Little Ferry Hose Company #1 in Little Ferry, New Jersey;
  • Moonachie Fire Department in Moonachie, New Jersey;
  • IHS Development in Newark, New Jersey;
  • Simpson Housing Services in Minneapolis, Minnesota; and
  • Franklin Fire Station #1 in Franklin, Wisconsin.

Voting will remain open until March 30 atwww.RescueRemodel.com. The organization with the most votes will receive a fully customized kitchen makeover valued at $25,000, featuring smart, functional IKEA designs. The renovation will be carefully constructed to suit the needs of the deserving group and better equip them to serve their community.

A winner will be selected on April 12, and the completed kitchen will be unveiled inThe Family Handyman’sSeptember issue and on its Web site, as well as onwww.RescueRemodel.com.

Consumers can vote once a day for the group they feel is most deserving of the renovation. Those who participate will be entered for a chance to win a $100 IKEA gift card.
