CHICAGO, ILL., April 15.—Not for some years has the Chicago Fire Department had so extensive and difficult a fire to handle as that which on Sunday last started, as well as can be ascertained, in a shed in the rear of Kohl & Middleton’s West Side Museum, on West Madison street, and never has the department shown more conspicuously the results of its splendid discipline, and the ability of its officers.
