Firefighters in one Ohio town may face discipline if they aren’t getting enough exercise, according to a news report.
The Toledo Blade(http://bit.ly/1kW20kT) reports that Sylvania Township has imposed a policy that requires its firefighters to undertake a fitness regimen for one hour on at least eight of every 10 working days. The move came in response to reported low participation in exercise from some fire department employees, and came in the wake of failure to agree with the fire union on a physical fitness policy.
No one has yet been written up. The union has filed a grievance, which is in the early stages of resolution.
