According to a report fromWSMV, the Nashville (TN) Fire Department (NFD) responded to a two-alarm apartment complex fire at the Brentwood Oaks Apartments.

NFD crews were dispatched at around 8:16 p.m. Monday night. NFD Officials indicated that they brought the fire under control just before midnight, but personnel remained on scene to extinguish hot spots.

Eighteen units in the apartment complex were damaged by the fire. Fire officials said it was tough getting water on the fire because the apartment complex is located on a “private” water supply, which was not enough to douse the fire.

NFD members had to “daisy-chain” their engines together from a hydrant at the bottom of the hill to achieve an adequate water supply.

As of 5:00 a.m. Tuesday morning, NFD crews have shut off the natural gas supply to the complex with help from Piedmont.
