According to a report fromKXAN, the popular Papa Jack’s bar in downtown Kyle, Texas, was gutted by a raging fire early Thursday morning. The business, located at 108 W. Center Street, was showed rolling smoke coming from an alley next to the building as crews arrived.
The Kyle Fire Department (KFD) received the call at around 1:50 a.m. No injuries have been reported, but the KFD reported that the roof had collapsed. Another business, Jack’s Axes, is connected to the bar. The KFD said Center Street is now closed through downtown because of the fire.
The KFD request the Austin Fire Department for mutual aid because of their ladder truck, which would aid in fighting the flames coming from overhead.
Numerous other agencies, including crews from San Marcos, Buda, North and South Hays County, and Wimberley responded for mutual aid. Hays County CERT volunteers, the Kyle Police Department, and PEC all responded to the scene as well.
