More than 2,500 rescuers who worked at Ground Zero in the rubble of theWorld Trade Centerafter the9/11 attackshave cancer, according to a new report.
The New York Postsays (http://bit.ly/1mUyM5N) a growing number of workers are seeking compensation for their illnesses.
In its latest tally, the World Trade Center Health Program at Mount Sinai Hospital counts 1,655 responders with cancer among the 37,000 cops and other city employees and volunteers it monitors, and the tally increases to 2,518 when firefighters and EMTs are counted.
