Security bars hampered rescue attempts during an Aurora (CO) house fire that killed a boy and injured a girl.
The fire occurred early Sunday morning. Police officers had to pry open security bars mounted on a window to access the victims. The boy, who was three- or four-years-old, died en route to a local hospital.
The police officers had to crawl through thick black smoke to get to the children, according to a report fromThe Denver Post(CLICK HERE).The girl, who was about one, was also transported to a local hospital. Two dogs were also rescued. Firefighters arrived on scene about two minutes after police.
