Jun. 15—PITTSBURG —Firefightersmanaged to contain a grass fire that could be seen Tuesday from multiple Central and East Contra Costa towns, authorities said.

The fire began shortly after 5:20 p.m., with reports of flames seen at Golf Club court and road, just south of West Leland Road.

Contra Costa County Fire Protection District firefighters were responding alongside CalFire resources to battle the fire, which was initially estimated at two to three acres before growing to about 10 to 15 acres shortly before 6 p.m.

A second and third alarm were called to ensure protection for a few structures along Orinda Circle.

In social-media posts Tuesday evening, a ConFire spokesman said the fire was contained as of 6:25 p.m. with no current “evacuation orders in effect” and “all structures have been protected though fires have burned into some yards.”
