To help with a strong voice forTaming the Fire Environment (TFE), all fire departments are encouraged to participate in the next generation of building and firecodesthat will impact our workplace the fireground.
For the first time in the International Code Council (ICC) development cycle both in-person participation and remote online voting will be available for fire service members to cast a vote so as influence building life safety measures and enhancefirefightersafety.

Follow the Three simple stepson the ICC website that will make you eligible to vote:
- Make sure your department is a Member (if not,click hereto join)
andsigned up to vote. - Updateyour department’s“Designated Voting Representatives”. This must be completed annually
- Log in to collaborate and vote on code change proposals, using cdpACCESS. Online voting opens in May and October 2015.
Code Hearing Sessions
There are two (2) code hearing sessions this year, each session offering an opportunity for electronic voting. The first code hearing will be held in the spring, it provides an opportunity to vote in support or opposition to the committee’s action; while the second hearing in the fall is effectively the final vote, and controls what does and does not get published in the next code cycle.
IMPORTANT:
You must be an ICC Voting Memberbefore March 20, 2015to vote online for the2018 Group-A Codes.
