Mar. 2—EAST HARTFORD — Eight people were displaced by an apartment fire on Park Avenue Tuesday night.

Assistant Fire Chief Steven Alsup said the fire department received a call shortly after 5 p.m. for a possible apartment fire at 378 Park Ave.

“Upon arrival, we found fire coming out of the apartment’s basement window,” Alsup said.

Alsup said the fire was located in a basement apartment unit, and was put out quickly by firefighters.

Alsup said two people lived in the unit where the fire originated, but more units are currently untenable as a result of the damage.

Alsup said no injuries were reported, and all occupants were able to get out safely. The Red Cross has been notified of the incident and will assist the displaced individuals.
