According to a report fromWTHR, Indianapolis (IN) Fire Department (IFD) dive team members helped recovered the bodies of27-year-old Kyle Moormanand his children Kyle II, 5; Kyannah Holland, 2; Kyran Holland, 1, from a south Indianapolis pond near Troy Avenue and Bluff Road Tuesday night.
At around 7:45 p.m. Tuesday, police responded to the pond after receiving a report of a body in the water. At around 9:30 p.m., the the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMDP) said that officers were conducting a death investigation on scene.
Just before 10 p.m., IMPD confirmed that IFD divers recovered a man’s body from the water, where family members say Moorman’s phone last sent out a signal on the night of Thursday, July 7.
After divers from the IFD and the Department of Natural Resources located the man’s body, they found a vehicle in pond. IMPD Assistant Chief Chris Bailey said three small children were found deceased inside the vehicle, which matched the description of the Moorman’s car.
On Wednesday, July 6, Moorman told his family he and his three children were going fishing at 11 p.m., but they hadn’t been seen since.
Police said that, because of the investigation, Bluff Road will be closed in the area for several hours, and have asked local residents to avoid the area.
