Checking Fire Department Contributions
Mayor Janies J. Walker of New York City has issued an order which has been retransmitted by Fire Commissioner Thomas J. Drennan to the men in the department. It is to the effect that the taking up of collections for any purpose, other than great public charities as may from time to time ask the permission of the department to receive voluntary contributions, be discontinued.
