Why Not Fete the Firemen?
A number of Minneapolis business men will entertain the entire personnel of the police department at two dinners. In commenting on the incident, the “Minneapolis Journal” writes as follows:
“The policeman has no very easy time of it at this season of the year. He works hard for the rest of us, and must ever be ready to risk his life, at a moment’s notice, for the rest of us. And every now and then a policeman gives his life for the rest of us, and always just as heroically as any soldier in battle. So it is altogether fitting that the rest of us show that we recognize and appreciate the valuable services of these peace-time heroes.
