At least one person is dead and 10 more unaccounted for after an early Friday house fire in Luzerne County, according to news reports.
Fire officialstold WNEPthat not everyone made it out safely, and at least one person was found dead inside the charred remains of a home on the 700 block of First Street in Nescopeck.
WNEP reported the fire started around 2:30 a.m. The cause remains unclear.
Three people were able to escape the blaze, according to WNEP.
“There was a gentleman out here running around the street. He was yelling- really upset, saying not everyone made it out. Animals. I mean, there was a lot of people living in there,” neighbor Mike Frank said, according to WNEP.
The Luzerne County Coroner’s Office and Pennsylvania State Police’s fire marshal are investigating the fire.
