WELLS

The new artesian wells for the supply of Camden, N. J., are flowing abundant streams of pure water.

At East Reading two artesian wells have been sunk and a large stream was struck. This water will be pumped into a new reservoir, which is located about 300 feet above the Reeser hotel along the mountain side and will have a storage capacity of 2,000 barrels. One of the wells is 150 feet deep, while the other is 200 feet.

The deepest well in the world is not that of the Forest Oil Company in Jefferson County. Pa., which is 5.000 feet deep. One near Wheeling, Y. Va., went down as far as one and one-half mile-the deepest dry hole ever drilled, except one in Germany.

James Kennedy, of Bellaire, Ohio, is drilling test wells at Benwood, W. Va.

An appropriation of $14,000 is asked by the District Commissioners of Washington,D.C., for drilling new deep wells.
