—The artesian well, 106 feet deep, at the hotel at Leicester, Mass., was recently found to have 5 feet of sand in the bottom, necessitating the cutting off of the pump pipe in order to restore regular action.
—The artesian well at Hanford, Neb., is down 1155 feet, and flows ninety gallons a minute.
