WATERWORKS BIDS OPENED
NEW YORK, N. Y.—Bids for furnishing, delivering and laying mains in various streets were opened August 18 as follows: L. D. Gregery, $38,828; Jos. Grippo, $42,762; Tuccillo, $40,848; Wilton Construction company, $41,248; Rodgers & Hagerty, $45,520; Henry E. Fox, $50,153; Flanover Construction company $45,068; Melrose Construction company, $40,343, and F. N. Lewis, $50,234.
ELKHORN, Neb.—Contract for constructing waterworks was awarded to the National company, South Bend, Ind., at $8,450.
