WATER SUPPLY

WATER SUPPLY

The members of the New England Water Works Association had a very pleasant outing on Wednesday last. The program arranged was a meeting of the executive committee in the forenoon, followed by general business, and at 1.40 o'clock a specia car was taken at Union Station for "Roberts” on the Fitchburg railroad, where carriages conveyed the party to Stony Brook reservoir, Norumbega tower, and the Hobbs Brook storage basin now being constructed by the city of Cambridge. The return trip was made through Prospect Hill Park, from the highest point of which a fine view was obtained. The party returned to Boston in the afternoon delighted with the outing.

In Jersey City prison the bursting of a waterpipe caused the liveliest consternation among the the prisoners. They object to the externa! use of Passaic water just as much as they do to taking it internally.
