WATER RATES
The Hartford, Conn., water department set an unusual record for the collection of the semiannual water bills due in October, more than $170,000 out of the $100,000 due being paid. To those bills not paid 5 per cent, will be added.
The water rates of Canton, O., can be cut onethird, according to Superintendent Ohliger, of the water department, and he is preparing a plan for the revision of the rates embodying his ideas by request of Mayor Turnbull, who says the rate revision will be delayed until Ohliger submits his proposition.
