Water Bids Opened
Charleston, Ill.—Contract for a new filtration plant has been awarded to the Pittsburg Filter Company, Pittsburg, at $15,780.
Shreveport, La.—The contract for the erection of a 100,000-gallon tank and tower at the Fair Ground was awarded by the City Council. August 5, to the Memphis Steel Construction Company for $3,900. The contract for the pipe line was awarded to the American Cast Iron Pipe Company, at $27,10 per ton. Other bidders were: Des Moines Bridge and Iron Company, tank and tower, $4,010; for pipe line 55 cents per foot; Henderson Iron Works, for pipe distributing system. $28.55 per ton; Brown-Roherts Hardware and Supply Company, tank and tower, $3,750; Chicago Bridge and Iron Works Company, tank and tower, $4,040; L. T. Coping Company, tank and tower. $4,300.
